Default Has the MY05 Subaru lost its voice?

Can any new MY05 STI PPP owners confirm that the new car has lost its signature flat four boxer warble?

I've not had a go of one, but wasn't aware that the UK MY05 came with equal length headers, which is basically what mutes the warble. I had a word with the director of public relations at Subaru UK not so long ago and expressed concern about the UK Scoobies going the way of the Jap spec models and loosing their warble and he basically said that they had no intention of removing the warble for UK models as they recognise that this is an integral part of the car's appeal in this country.

Phew thank god.

Your right I was reading an arcticle about the "JDM" model in Japanese performance mag.

BTW there's a great write up about the new MY05 in this mag - I've got a bloody Subaru itch now!

I read somewhere it was a reduced warble due to more equal headers

It's nothing to worry about anyway - my JDM car has equal length headers, and although it doesn't have the distinctive flat four burble, it has a wonderfully aggressive snarl that's no poor substitute. The improved smoothness more than makes up for it too.
