I had a word with the director of public relations at Subaru UK not so long ago and expressed concern about the UK Scoobies going the way of the Jap spec models and loosing their warble and he basically said that they had no intention of removing the warble for UK models as they recognise that this is an integral part of the car's appeal in this country.
Your right I was reading an arcticle about the "JDM" model in Japanese performance mag.
BTW there's a great write up about the new MY05 in this mag - I've got a bloody Subaru itch now!

It's nothing to worry about anyway - my JDM car has equal length headers, and although it doesn't have the distinctive flat four burble, it has a wonderfully aggressive snarl that's no poor substitute. The improved smoothness more than makes up for it too.
