Rear number plates.

Rear number plates.
Hi guys - just wondering why some imported Subarus have square rear number plates and others rectangular? - my import has a square rear plate - always thought the square rear plate was one of the ways you could tell an import over a uk model. Cheers.

My Import came with a square no plate and a seperate fog light. I have changed my number plate to a rectangle one and moved the fog light into the rear o/s light cluster, so it looks lees like an import.
When changing the number plate there is a metal bracket behind it designed to take the square no Plate, I just cut mine down with an angle grinder and used the existing holes to mount the rectangle no plate.

A JDM car may have an apeture in the rear bumper that suits the registration plate in that market; as a standard size UK plate wont fit you may use an appropriately sized plate carrying motorcycle size characters.

I just got a Standard plate from Halfrauds cut the metal mounting plate down and bolted the new plate on no special spacing or size of plate needed.
