The Frenchman began the defence of his crown with an impressive display in Monaco, when his finished ahead Finland's Toni Gardemeister to take all 10 championship points. Loeb looks a cut above the rest of the field at the moment and is a clear favourite to repeat his triumph of last year. It will take something special from his rivals if they are to beat him
