Smile gaitor split

i have a 94 wrx import and my steering rack is leaking because there is a split gaitor, anyone know where i can get one from and also if it is the same as the uk spec one if so i can buy it from the dealers.

yourlocal friendly motor factors should sort you out.

dont bank on it!!!

mine went.. there are two types of rack available.. a standard, or a dual stage

both use different boots

local factors only hold generic pattern ones...

a new genuine one was £26!!! a rip off i know, but no one could confirm what rack was fitted by examination, and IM wouldnt let on either

bet my fella could get hold of them............


he got me a clutch slave cylinder over £20 cheaper than subaru (for exactly the same part, evenb down to the nubers cast into it!).........

also a O2 sensor for someone off SIDC..............

The gaitor is only a cover, not a seal. It may be leaking from the steering box seal itself. Had the same problem on my sti 4. Part is cheap, but it takes a good 2-3 hours to fit.
