Decat - Pros and Cons
#2
You will se a respectable hike in power all round the rev range. No question abou tit, the cats are the most restrictive part of th exhaust. You will also see better turbo spool-up. The cons are it's illegal to drive without a cat, and it's detrimental to the environment. Idealy, it would be nice if you could leave at least one cat in place or even better get a racing cat (that flow air much better). The other con is that you'll never in hell pass an MOT without one, so if you do decat keep the cat for that occasion. Theres also talk of road-side exhaust testing by the police. As far as I know this isnt enforced yet, butif it does start, you'd be in the deepend if you were found running decat.
You will also get a slight increase in noise but nothing signifficant (or for that matter, unwelcome)
All in all, some pretty cheap horsepower.
