Question

Sorry guys and girls but I need a couple of questions answered. I have a full SS exhaust and a magnex centre pipe on a MY2000 UK saloon. I am also running a ITG filter. While the car is quick, I would love to make it that bit quicker without putting the engine at risk. I have read a few times about fitting a bleed valve......

What exactly is a bleed valve?
Where does it go?
What difference will it make to boost pressures?
Is it a 'safe' thing to fit .... or is my engine at risk of going POP!!?

MANY thanks...

Ray

Cool

Bleedvalve? No!

Or rather, Lee Cristie did have some success with his bleeding valve... I suggest you search the archives for any threads covering bleed valves.

I fitted a bleed vavle on my 95 wrx after following lee's instruction and it worked a treat, but be careful not to put to much boost on because there's an overboost limit built into the ecu and if you reach the limit it's like hitting a brick wall an it's not to good for the car incidently my limit is 15.5 psi.
By the sound of the stuff you put on the car you've probly only got a couple of psi to play with.

heh heh All I would say is if you are going to go down this route, buy the same type of valve I did (some others have bought pressure limiting valves which don't work the same) - demon tweeks, part nos on website, and install as i did.

DO NOT consider fitting a valve to the MAP sensor in an effort to raise boost further. It aint worth it.

OK, only 12bhp/12lb/ft gained, but noticeable and hey, only £20.
