Gold wheels on silver car:-(
Hi all. I have a new Sti on order for delivery in 4 weeks. Only problem is that they only come with Gold wheels (the car is silver). I think i'll look a right Panda driving around with this colour combo. Question is, should I spray the new wheels a different colour or purchase some new wheels?

The silver car gold wheels combo looks fine to me.
I've got a silver my96 STI with gold wheels. Not that I'm biased
Must say though I would prefer anthracite wheels.
Cheers,
Mudfrog

The gold wheel debate.
Thanks guys. I'm looking at the 05 specs and it says you can have the wheels in any colour you want as long as thier gold. Has anyone got a picture of a silver one with gold wheels?

Thanks Austin. I think i'll have to wait and see what the car looks like on them I guess. I've already got my new suspension on order, my new silicone hoses are here, my car mats will be here today as will my strut brace and as soon as Scorpion have finished developing the exhaust for the new Sti, i'll have one of them as well..... (Not that I'm keen or anything). I've never had an Impreza so I've got alot af catching up to do:-)

I've seen a new silver sti with gold wheels at my local dealer (Days) and it looked real nice. Some say gold and silver don't go, but it looks real good IMHO.
The new wheels are much better than the 03sti as well.

I have a silver 03 WRX that came with standard bronze - or 'anthracite' - wheels. It looks pants. Like they haven't been cleaned. I put '02 silver wheels on it and it looks much better.
On blue, black or even green WRX's the bronze ones they look fine, nice even. On silver they don't.
I know I'll get flamed for this but to me gold wheels on any car look....well, I don't think they work. IMHO of course. Worst of all on silver.
Now I've said it - I'll get me coat....

Silver and gold ..... ughhhhhhhh... doesn't go at all IMHO.... When I changed the wheels on my silver classic decided either light silver ( 1st choice ) or anthracite was the best look.

Almost a trademark for Scoobs to have gold wheels, but IMO i think it just looks odd. I prefer the subtle, meaner look of anthracite, it just complements the silver.

I've got a silver MY03 STi, came with the golds. One dealership offered to change them for anthracite - a bit of digging turned up the info that he was going to swap them for the wheels off a WRX - which are narrower, etc.
Nice try!
I settled for buying myself a nice set of PFF7s, which look far better than the original golds (so all the ladies in my life tell me, I haven't a clue!). That said, I've got the golds back on as the 18" tyres are worn out, I'm a bit tight for cash with the wedding coming up, the golds have 20k of rubber left, and they all look black in winter anyway!

Problem I found out yesturday is that the NEW 2005 model has wider reack and not many 17" wheels will fit, so according to Speedline and my Subaru dealer I either move up to 18's OR stick with the OE wheels and get them painted.

Call me boring, but wheels are silver and there it ends. I don't even like that halfway pewtery colour on WRX's

Can't say i'm a great lover of gold wheels to honest, however i do think they look nice on a green or black Scoob.
I have a silver STi wagon with 17" Speedline GT1 in anthracite finish. dark tinted rear windows, have to say the look of the car is pretty aggressive imo.
Silver car, either silver or anthracite wheels imho.
