Evening all
Is the formula for the UK chassis codes different to that for imports?
I have been trying to check mine for my97 catalunya against the formula in C Rees' book (p60) and several websites and there is some disagreement (seemingly).

Here is my 7 fig:
GC8EK8D

I've worked out
G = impreza
C = saloon
8 = 2.0 t
E = my98 (BUT it is a my97!?)
K = ???
8 = WRX (no it isn't)
D = 5 speed manual

Any help appreciated
