Default Classic to Newage MY05, your thoughts

I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were to the new shape Subaru's. I am thinking of selling my P1 for a Newage JDM STI.

Has anyone made the change and wished they hadn't.
Any good or bad points of the newage car compared to the classic?

New age is a good bit heavier I think. Had a look round one last weekend with a view to doing the very same, still not sure. Doors shut nice a bit like a bmw instead of the tinny clang you will be used to. Sure that wont sway your opinion much though !
In the showroom we agreed yes we would have one. Got back in mine and had to think twice. Is it really worth another 10k over mine, or is it 10k better, if you know what I mean. Still thinking.
Trouble is they always are tempting shiny new cars. Daz.

i had a modded classic which would not of been far off 280bhp i had to sell it to raise some funds for a bussines project we were doing. After we were up and running i decided i wanted a new(ish) sti i went to our local dealership and test drove a blobeye sti ppp. Afterwards it left me feeling disapointed as it missed something,so i stuck a post up on here which caused a bit of a stir. I then decided to to take a JDM sti out, it was a far better car. It drove a lot better and all the little extra's finish the car off, with 310bhp as standard.

in the end i bought a 04 jdm sti. The only way you will tell is to go and test drive one for yourself.

I changed from a very nice P1 + £12000 in the bank to a new WR1 + empty bank account, never looked back so I am sure you wont regret changeing to a JDM STI.

Hi Ant,

Have you found any good or bad points between the two cars?

Well they are both just as fast as each other, get just as many looks if not more in WR1 people love the colour, handling is about the same although ride in WR1 is slightly better, WR1 is slightly better on fuel, brakes on WR1 are much better than P1 (and P1 had prodrive upgrades), In my opinion its a nicer car all round I diddent regret it one bit even with kissing goodbuy too £12000 to change.

JDM = Japanese domestic market, ie a car thats designed for the japanese market and not for the uk, japanese spec in other worlds.

Thanks for the offer ScoobyTal but I am looking at buying the MY05 version.

Going to test drive a UK version this weekend and hopefully a JAP version later on in the month. Should be interesting to compare the two.
