Question Full Subaru history still worth it on an RB5 ?

My car's getting to that age where I'm doubtfull if the FSSH tag is making any change in the value. What's the opinions on the value dropping if I was to change to a local sports specialist instead of Subaru for my next service ?

Craig.

Depends if you're selling private or trading in - if you're trading in it makes no difference once the car is out of warranty.

well put it this way, its not gona stop the constant price drop of the car but it surely will give some catalyst to selling the car. Generally ive seen peopel turn their heads away from mint cars just cos they dont have service history. The buyer has reassurance of everything ever done to the car. Keep it and keep it uptodate mate, it better when ure selling rather than not having it

The money saved on taking it to a specialist will more than match any slight increase in price for a subaru dealer service history.

To be honest for an older car if was I buying I'd prefer it to have been serviced by a sports specialists than a subaru dealer once it's got to a certain point age wise...

Too right... I saved two hundred quid on my major (cambelt) service by taking it to a specialist.

Mind made up now. I'll save a few hundred and I don't think it will make a huge change in the trade in price.

Cheers

Craig.

as an earlier coment, if you're gonna sell private it's a bit more of a bonus to have, but if you're gonna part ex it then it doesn't matter at all (apart from getting shafted on a decent p/ex value that is)

i'm keeping my scooby history going for the sheer fact that to the general public buying his/her first scooby if there's 2 identical cars for sale one with full scooby history and one without, what one do you think will get sold first? a full main dealer history still holds a fair bit of clout with most people.

saying that i'm about to spunk loads on my 60 month service next month ('bout £600) it better be worth it in the long run

aah lol sorry i didnt read the initial post properly, I thought u meant Service history in general didnt know u was refering to Subaru service history. In that case i would agree with the rest, id rather have evidence of it being maintained by sports specialists rather than subaru. With my sti, i have vast history from TSL which i think is more eye catching than subaru themselves
