Question How to find paint colour code for gold alloys?

I have a set of classic alloys, 16" in Gold which I was told were off a Catalunya. They are a bit scruffy! - Anyway the car is going in for the bodywork to be tidied (bottled out of the full re-spray jobie )and the painter says if I can get a colour match code for the alloys he can tidy them up too...

Sounds good to me - Now where do I get that paint code? - Anyone done it?

Cheers

Mick

You will find a code for Subaru Gold Wheels' in the paint chart book down at your local Halfords. I presume that this is the colour for the most recent STI gold wheels, so may be different to what you have, but if you like the colour of them...
Prodrive gold is brighter and not listed - that's the one I am trying to match to at the mo.

You have to go to Halfords chaps. Ask the nice man or girl behind the counter to borrow one of there colour match books and take it out to the car with you, look for all the golds, (there are many) and hold each page to your wheel! Yes, it's quite difficult to match, and VERY easy to THINK you have a good match then when you get home and start painting, you think, sh*t, there must have have been a better match there! I had to do this ages ago for a gold wheel on an 03 car, and I think The one I finally picked, which was a good match, was a Honda gold colour! Hope this helps!

I used Halfords as well, they made me up a small paint pot. About £7 I think.
Can't remember the code though, but it's a spot on match.
