Question Prodrive geometry settings

I'm after a geometry check, & while I'm at it I'm wondering if it's worth changing the factory settings. My main dealer said as an alternative they could change the geometry to the Prodrive settings. I've never heard of these - anyone know what they are? Any good for general (i.e. fast) road use?

Cheers ('03 STi UK)

Get the settings done to Prodrive numbers at a proper 4 wheel alignment place like Elite in Rainham - they know the numbers. Perfect for fast road use, without spending lots of money. Made a world of difference when compared to factory settings on my MY00. No more understeer and tramlining. The tyres wear more evenly rather than just the inside edge. Once done I noticed how sensitive the car is to things like tyre pressures and how more aware you become to the importance of geometry.

Enjoy,
John

It is just putting car on ramps, hooking some sensors on the wheels and tweeking the adjuster bolts. Shouln't pay more than 45 notes IMHO. No great skill involved, just attention to detail assuming they have the proper laser alignment kit. I paid £40 at stapletons all in, if you insist on a specialist then only £40 plus vat at Roger Clarke IIRC.

I think Elite charge about GBP65 + VAT - some time since I had it done.

For the other message - if it is such an easy job why do so many places mess up the steering wheel alignment or even make the geometry worst than when you went in! Same for most things - get a good technician and the job is done with little fuss and to a high standard. Last time at Elite I noticed a "more mature" chap working on my car, he had a "younger" chap watching and assisting. I hope the lesson worked because the car felt fantastic when I left and headed down the A13.

John - who is looking forward to getting back to the UK and driving a proper car after the months of a 1.5 auto! But, not looking forward to the fuel bill - 10p/litre!
