Car tax enquiry
I bought a car from the auctions (306 turbo diesel)last night, can i tax it this morning without the logbook, all i have is receipt of purchase, mot, form applying for logbook (v62) and obviously insurance, or do i need to wait for logbook to come through,

No you can't tax it. You need the logbook itself or at the very least the small green tear off slip off the bottom of the older logbooks. Without either you have a 2-3 week wait.

Might be wise to be one step ahead and do a SORN declaration tho...
I'd not be suprised if the V5 takes 6 wks to arrive too. They'll have to write to the current keeper giving 14 days for him to respond to their enquiry about 'someone' applying for a V5 to his car.
Also, as you can't TAX it, you can't legally use it. I bet they'll fine you if you don't SORN it, just as soon as you register it.
It's money for old rope as far as they are concerned. And not their fault you bought without a V5!!!!
