With the policeman;

David Hingston Defence lawyer Procurator fiscal Gary Aitken told the court: "The legislation that covers the use of speed cameras restricts the charge.

"They can only be used for speeding and not for any of the more significant offences such as dangerous driving."

With the next guy;

A speed camera photographed the car being driven in the oncoming lane of the A1 at Hebron, near Morpeth, where the limit is 60mph, at 120mph, just after 0100 GMT in March 2004.

And he did get done for dangerous driving - maybe it because he was goin the wrong way as well - I suppose that would make sense.

Is the law different in Scotland.

Love this bit;

He will not lose his job but has been stripped of driving duties and will face a misconduct hearing.

I suppose it woiuld be a bit difficult to justify giving a banned driver driving duties really
