Anyone had a scooby as a first car?
As the title, and if so:
1.How did you survive
2.Did you manage to get insured or just drive it 3rd party.
thanks.

1st ever car or 1st car you actually paid for yourself,i had company cars from my 17th birthday until i was 29 then i paid my own money out and bought a Bugeye WRX.
But before that my company had given me a P plate classic and then on to an
RB5 WR amongst many others, so i dont think i count.

My mate past his test age 34 2 months ago, brought his wrx straight off and only lasted a few weeks, a really bad one, he spent 2 weeks in hospital over xmas and the car he hit the 20 year old driver in still in a bad way.

The 1st car I drove after passing my test was an early Impreza Sport, however like most people I had to make do with a knackered 950 Fiesta for the first car I actually owned

thanks alot people. First car I own will probably be a astra butl my dad has a version 4 type R, and i was wondering if i would actually be able to get insured by anyone. So if you know anyone who will then please let us no.

I had a classic turbo when I was 19, the first car I paid for myself. Insurance was a bit steep unsuprisingly, into £2K for the first year with a grand excess! I survived somehow but I wouldn't have wanted to be the second owner of that car.

Not many will insure you on a Type R if you are under 22-23 i think and if they do it will cost you a lot.
Under 21 i wouldnt have thought you would have any chance no matter how much money you are willing to pay.
Tell Dad to buy something almost as potent but easier to insure for you, CTR maybe?
See what he says to that

I'm 21 and I'm driving a 1.6 LX saloon, ok according to many its not a 'proper' scooby but considering I only had about £1500 to spend at the time and no no-claims... was either that or a corsa and there was no way I wasn't having the scoob!
