Default Roughly how quick should my wrx be

I know im not gonna get an exact answer to this but roughly how quick i.e 0-60 , 0-100 should my lightly modded 02 wrx be, its currently running 270bhp with 258 ftlb torque, re-chipped, magnex decat downpipe and k&n replacement panel filter , soon to have other cat ditched for the rest of the magnex system. I know its a very inacurate way to get performance figures but until i can get it properly tested at a strip it the only idea i will have.

So out of 208 people not one of you has any idea how fast you car is, strange I thought you'd all be more than happy to state your estimated/tested performance figures or is this a taboo subject on here.

fallwood.....sorry to see no-one has given you a sensible answer

It will of course depend what colour it is as to the figures you could expect. I hope this helps

If you bury the clutch and get off the line cleanly,

60 in around 5.2-5.5
100 in around 14.5-15.0

The bugeye is the slowest out of the 3 generations and i would say these would be fairly accurate.

The pod will probably confirm this with your terminal speed. I guess about 14.3 @ 97 or so mph.

Thanks I just wanted a rough estimate, cos its black with gold wheels does that make it faster . Seriously though I've been told that the safe max I could get out my car without delving into the engines inners is about 310bhp, how safe is it to run this type of power on a standard engine and will it make it much quicker that it is now. Im having the rest of the exhaust system fitted next week and the garage has estimated about 310 bhp when combined with my other mods, does this sound feasable from just changing the rest of the system, seems a bit of a high gain to me. Im more interested in getting better rolling performance 30-100 as I dont screw it off the mark very often and I think mid range power is more usefull in real world driving conditions, should I be going a different route for mid range power or are the kind of light mods im doing the right way to go.

Im no expert mate but will the standard turbo flow 310bhp?

I would have thought you would need to change to a larger turbo unit for 300+bhp

280bhp is probably about the max your going to see on the turbo that you have on already, not many people see above this figure without changing the turbo, but thats the least of your worries, the biggest will be the brakes, which are not brilliant on the best of days, but hopefully you have changed these already?

Performance figures for your car will be inaccurate for anyone to guess, there will be alot of variables that can change, the likes of the map you have had done on your car, where the power delivery is and where it ends for instance?

Your aim for 310bhp, its a bit of a funny figure, its above whats available to you now without changing the turbo and having the car remapped, and even if someone said that 310bhp is the max you can get out of the engine safely, its going to cost you more than its worth (considering there are people out there running 350+ on these engines without problems) but your going to be getting into big cash territory for this (clutch and gearbox will at some stage need sorting if not replacing/rebuilding).
The honest truth is that if you throw enough money at anything it will probably happen, and to be honest with you, your nearing the top with what you already have, there isnt much room for improvement without the spending that goes with it.

Cool....that is pretty accurate. I had a 2.0 16V Nova a while back running ~185BHP and weighed 835KG. That site predicted my standing qtr at 13.49 @ 103.73 MPH. At a damp York dragstrip, I actually managed a 13.9sec @ 103MPH so the results are very accurate!

So im not gonna see much gain from fitting the rest of the magnex system, the center section and the back box are standard at the moment. As for the brakes do I just need to change the discs and pads for something better or are we talkinfg about changing the calipers as well, cant say ive noticed a problem with stopping but I havent put the brakes through any constant heavy use yet.

Brakes....
On the standard subaru setup id personally change the calipers aswell as the discs, something over 300mm will suffice (305/308mm are good enough for road use) but you can stick with the standard calipers if your on a budget and go look at places like www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk who can do you a kit to fit.

Cheers, I will have a look at that. Still confused as to what difference fitting the rest of the magnex system will do for the car, surely it will do something even though im already reaching the limit on what power I can get.
