If you want to be stable, don't go fast!!!
Only joking m8 Get a scoob, you won't regret it.
Standard classic = 208-215 bhp
Import wrx = 240-260bhp
Import sti = 280-300bhp
sti type ra = slightly lighter bodyshell and a blo*dy clsoe ratio gearbox and I mean 135mph max in 5th!

You will struggle to get an sti for that money. Thought about insurance? For about 6k you may find an early sti 1 or 2, but I doubt it will be a good one. But then who cares if you are just going to fit a cheap boost controller and wind it all the way up!!!
Don't expect the motor to last more than 50 miles though.

cheers mate, thing is as i said before i have a GT4 celica at the moment running 250hp
but i want a more responsive car and a car that can handle a higher bhp and not blow up on me! so the 300bhp mark is good, and if sti is 280ish it could be the one.

Buy a cossie or stick with Toyota then Impreza sti's have a habit of letting go (big end number 3) sadly Lovely cars but not exactly reliable Aren't celicas capable of 300 bhp easily and reliably? I know they are a bit heavier though

I just don't get why you want 300bhp, surely when you have it, u'll want 350bhp??
Best advice is to go and have a look at a few. Don't forget that the standard wrx which has 240-260bhp (model year dependant) is around 150kg lighter than a standard gt4. Spend about a grand on a wrx and I suppose 280 ish is realistic.
Did your gt4 blow up on you then?

no no, i would be selling that to get this. its just coz its heaver and is less responsive.. more a refined type of ride.. plan was to do this up to 300bhp but it will cost a bit.. and i love scoobys so id rather get that, more fun drive too innit??
