The 'ULTIMATE' (standard) Impreza ?
Ok so there are loads of different models UK import ect I've had Imports for 6 years now so know what I think but what really is the best model as standard ? Everyone bows down to the 22B but some say the extra width makes it harder to drive on B roads ect as you have the '911' feeling when aproching other cars.
I have a V5 type R v-ltd which I think this (and more so the V6) is really the best connoisseurs Impreza as it is light weight has the stronger STI engine, DCCD, water spray, close 'box', quick rack, strut braces, roof vent, ect,ect !
Back in Jan 2000 CAR had the ultimate shootout with 22B, RB5, P1, ect ect it said the Type R was 'undoubtedly the fastest here' and 'the top dogs bollocks'
So without trying to cause a arguement what really is the God of the scoob world does the 22B still rule or what about the S202 or Spec C ?
Of course I like this on best
But then thats because it's mine!
Cheers Col

<can open, worms everywhere>
The 22B is by far the most 'special' IMHO, but in terms of straight-from-the-factory spec it would probably have to be the S203.

The Electra One was only a show car - the S201 was the limited-run production version. I don't think any were ever brought to the UK - I've certainly never seen one.

about the S202 or Spec C ?
350BHP, 347 ft lb torque, after a 'safe' re map to accept Optimax without octane booster (IMHO hardly constitutes a major modification.)
Most people tend to frown on this motor maybe because it has the unfavoured 'bugeyes', I dont know, but would give most cars a run for their money in the right conditions.
