Auction 'Grade IV' is about as good as it gets; a 'Grade 4.5 is possible but on a car over 3 years old its extremely rare, on an older car its hardly ever given. 'Grade 5' cars are virtually as new. 'Grade 3.5' vehicles can be very good too; as many auctions wont grade vehicles with over 100k Kms on the odometer as a 4. Grade 'O' 'R' & 'A' and derivatives are all 'repair history' cars and usually best avoided, as you cant read Japanese ideograms.

I forget to mention 'Grade 1' which is either a 'flood history' car or one which has had a modified turbo or intercooler or been converted from automatic to manual transmission. 'Grade 3' are poor and 'Grade 2' are ****e.
