Seems a lot of owners for a 3-4 year old car and how come only some history at 50k.

Try to find out if the history is from a dealer and try to chase up the complete history at the dealers.

If you can find out where the last service was done and confirm his story it sounds reasonable but a car with an incomplete history is always going to arouse suspicions (well it would with me anyway) especially on a performance car and be worth less come sale time too.

I think I'd insist a Subaru garage or specialist looked at it. And make sure the HPI check is clear: that price seems to good to be true, which usually means it is.

Two rules when buying a performance car:

1) Only get one with a full service history.
2) Only get one with a full service history.

I'd walk away! 8.5k may be cheap, but its a false economy for a car that might go pop! This sounds like a car that people have bought but not been able to afford to maintain properly...or at the very least it hasn't been in the hands of enthusiasts...there are plenty out there that have!

Best.
