* ATTEMPTED THEFT WITH A GUN !*
An Impreza WRX was attempted to be taken with force this morning [Christmas day!]. Two ARMED white guys knocked on the front door of a house, pushed the door open as soon as it was unlocked. A small weapon, presumed to be a Pistol, was forced into the face of the occupant and the keys to the car locked up on the driveway were demanded.
The occupant had no choice [risking death!] but to comply, where upon the burglars then tried to unlock and take the car. Fotrtunately they were un successful, due to multiple barrier locks and steering wheel locks, they mixed the keys up and had to run without the car.
They were seen driving away in a blue coloured vauxhall astra, unknown registration, possibly towards Wolverhampton.
Armed police are searching the area as well as "SOCO" are printing the vehicle as the silly sods did not wear gloves !
It now leaves a very nasty taste on this day, the owners cannot go out untill the car is taken to a "secure" compound and all the house locks are changed.
A Merry Christmas? I dont think so.
PLEASE !! Be very careful who you open your front door to !!
*Latest update*
Recovery arrived, but they cant move the car, without doing damage, as they aint got right lift gear to do a full lift [no keys you see], so having to wait for another truck, why is it they can shift a car in minutes on the telly?
Occupants of the house very shook up,dont feel like eating "Xmas dinner" [as you can appreciate]. I dont think they will ever be the same, I dont think the owner will have the gut to keep the car once the insurance have changed all that needs to be changed, so an owner of a new scoob for two months, will not be thinking too kindly of what was his "pride and joy!".

Shocking.
At least everyone is physically OK.
I'm sure it will take a long time to get over.
Just glad no-one was hurt in this revolting incident.

Car has now been taken away for the police to fingerprint, so the owners are, er "relieved" the car is away from the house, but it now leaves them without a car till the insurance company are back in their office. The Locksmith has been out and charged £480.00 YES £480.00 to change two front door locks. Talk about rubbing salt into old wounds ! OUCH, thats gotta hurt.
So I say Again. "WHEN YOUR FRONT DOOR KNOCKS -- CHECK WHO IT IS !!

Sickening...... Never imagined that this sort of thing could happen in Britain, maybe I'm too sheltered up here in Scotland.. But.. *touch wood* we dont have that sort of crime up here yet.
Pass on my regards to the "victims".............. and I hope to god that they Police manage to find the scummy f@ckers that did this and put them away for a long time.
Cheers,
Grant

Any ideas on the wherebaouts?...You say they headed off towards Wolverhampton, being in the Midlands..I would like to know.
I'm always on my guard...but I usually hear of this on the East side of Brum.
It's sad really, My scoob is the oldest car of the lot in the household (3 cars), it is also worth the least. Yet it has the most security, and has to be garaged overnight to keep it out of sight from any "passers by" whilst the more expensive, newer cars have to sit outside. Where's the logic in that? I ask myself that so often....then I'm reminded by inccidents like this

The fact that they go to those lengths (and risks) to steal a £20,000 car when they could steal a £70,000 car just as easily with the same method says something about the intelligence of these people.
Council Estate Inbred Trash. They should be all be gassed in order to cleanse the gene pool.
I never would have bought a Scoob if I'd have known what Pikey-magnets they were. Seriously thinking about selling it now.

NOT TO FAR AWAY
We've know to 2 late type r's been stolen, one was ours,The combined effort of multipul police forces was they are being stolen and broken for parts, consider what a £14K scooby is worth in parts, say to a bmw of the same value and you have your answer.Just wonder whose buying and selling them?? I'd just like 5 mins with them in a locked room to explain how naughty they are.

I'd like to know how you ensure that you don't open the door to people like this? Many have to open the door to see who is there and to check their identity. Yes they were strangers. How many of us have strangers knock at the door? Not usual on Christmas day, I know. But if two strangers knocked on my door on a non-working day or out of hours, I would probably guess that they were thieves/scammers or police (in or out of uniform).
I'm just glad to hear these people weren't physically hurt. Although, I'm sure that they will be mentally scarred for some time to come.

How can we expect this sort of behavoir to stop when there is no deterent?? Scraping lawyers would be a start. Atleast then, all of the cases that would normally be thrown out due to a 'technicallity', would atleast have a proper trial and hopefully end up with the correct sentence. In this case, having their filthy little hands chopped off.
Again, the main thing is that everyone is ok and in a potition to carry on with their lives, when so many others, are not.

Update [again]
The Police are going to ensure that this attempted theft [with a firearm], will go to local press, so the "Express & Star" may well be running it on their first publication after the holiday.
The Location, shall I say is on the edge of Wolverhampton, on the North Eastern side, sorry, cant give too much away, for, well I think you all appreciate why.
All I can say to all you scooby netters out there is, PLEASE dont be caught out the same way!
SEE who is at the door FIRST , BEFORE opening it, look out of a window or something, there are a few guys who are not taking this seriously, I'm only trying to let you know what is happening in the "real world". Oh and YES, how about not keeping your house keys on the same keyring as your car keys, so if they nick the one set, they dont get both, so they can "call again" for your stereo and dvd players.
