Default Protecting your car from Garage wrench monkeys?

What do you guys do to prevent your Scooby from being ragged by garage mechanics. I normaly use BHP Developments for work on my car and have no worries about Russell takening my car away and driving it back.
But yesterday I had some tyres fitted at a garage I've never used before. One of the mechanics fcuked a stud and nut by cross threading it with his air gun Car has been dropped off with them but is having to be left for an hour while they change the stud out.
Suggestions to stop 18yo monkeys from takening my car for a 'test drive'. I used to work in a garage and saw all the big power cars getting a hard time!

just check the milage on drop off and tell them straight,a garage does not need to take your car for a road test after they have carried out work on it,You can do that yourself and return to garge if not satisfied

Black jaxx

Disconnect boost soloniod purge valve. Or connect the wategate hose directly to the actuator. - 6psi boost instead of 14psi

This is the only safe option you can take and hope they don't do anything untowards with it within the car park etc. One tyre was worn badly in my stupidity gave it to the local ATS muppets to fix. Not only did they completely mess up the Geo settings which killed both front tyres in a fortnight, they put about 12 miles on it!!! plus lifted £60 off me too.

I complained and was told they had to do a test run.
