Should be able to wangle an 04 WRX for not much more as they're trying to shift the last few to make way for the 05's which are already in the showrooms. Get a price on an 05 from someone like Tins or Drive The Deal (usually around 18.5k), then see what the dealers (always deal with at least 3) will drop to on an 04. Less hassle in the long run, for just a few hundred more. If your dealer is sourcing cars elsewhere I can see IM getting upset with them, and then when they've lost their franchise your servicing deal is out in the cold. You will also have difficulty getting a PPP (should you want one) later, but I suppose the same dealer will bend those rules too. You may lose any savings when it comes to resale, as people still pay a bit less for EU cars than UK (opens can of worms).
I'd get a UK, and save the money on servicing later by using an indepedant specialist at half the price of the dealers. A mate of mine has just followed my advise and saved 2k on his new Forester
