Default New 2005 Scooby????

Hi All

I have just received my silver 2005 spec wrx. It needs its 1000 mile service. Do you think the Scooby main dealers will be iffy about servicing it? What is done at the 1000 mile mark? and how much will it cost?

Thanks

I presume it's an import? As long as it's registred with IM (just send them a copy of the original sales recipt and your details and you'll get a conformation letter back) you can get it serviced and any (cross border) warranty work done no problems!

You will have to pay however for your 1st sevice ~ £110.

I've not long ago done exactly this with my 05 wrx.

Jason

PS pm me for furthur details.

jasonius - where did you get your 05 spec from? Import or UK? Are Subaru UK selling 05 spec here yet?

Chap

05 spec have been on sale now for about 1 month or so. Quite a few of us have ours now. I was at SGT yesterdya in Maidenehad and they had a showroom of both MY04 and 05 cars - the MY04 all with at least 2.5 -3k off them, and the 05 showing now discounts at all. If you want cheap, go for an 04 and the dealers have to sell them (or run them as demo's and then sell them as used).

Make sure you stick to the service schedule/mileages in your service book, not the UK schedule. And don't go over the specified mileages.....

is that true even if the car was destined for UK sale (uk engine/vin numbers), although it was sourced from Cyprus. Will the sevice book define the mileage and service needs?

Suggest you write to Subaru Cyprus to clarify. I wrote to Subaru Malta to clarify what the service intervals were as officially according to the book it was about every 5000 miles (and expensive!). They wrote back and said that not all the Matlese intervals were applicable to UK conditions and that only the ones shaded grey were mandatory. Might be different for the Cyprus ones but it meant that my service intervals are every 9000 to 10000 miles - around the same as a UK sourced car.
