I'm in the same boat, both key fobs knackered because the plastic at the end is broken. Remote fob stays in my pocket now, just have to be careful not to lose it. Pain comes when sending your car for a service etc, as they tape the remote to another key so not to lose it.
I taped mine originally to a keyring, but the metal in made blipping the remote hard as it interfered with the tranmission of the signal.
If you find somewhere doing these cheap, or find an alternative fob that the parts can be transplated into, let me know as I'd like to get mine sorted too.

I wonder if you could carefully drill a hole in each end and then thread a seperate ring throgh the new holes and then your key in turn onto the ring. This worked successfully with my sons Honda Civic fob.
All the best.

Replacement fobs can be bought from local dealer for about £35 each from memory, all you need is your 4 digit pin and your alarm can be programed to accept the new fob.
