Thinking of getting one of these and found the S3 for £149.99, is it worth getting or is the S4 much better, or can anyone else recomment an alternative, ive done a search but not found much on the S3. Any help appreciated as im moving out of town soon and dont fancy having to get the bus.
Thanks

apparantly snoopers are the only ones endorsed by the police?
I guess thats becasue as soon as you hit 80 mph, it says
but it only does it once (i checked right upto 140, for evaluation purposes only of course )

S4 has much more features but as far as just alerting you when needed is the S3 good enough, £170 is a very good price as I have not seen it for under £329.99, Its a bit of a fun gaget too but does the voice get annoying after a while, can you change it to a tone.

Whats it like to put up with every day, does it bick up traffic lights etc or was that the realy old snoopers, do you find that if it does go off its mostly supposed to, is it quite small and can you stick it on your window, sorry for the 20 questions, its £150 for the S3 but if I can get the S4 for a bit more with subscription (although second hand) I think its worth it.

its never gone of unless it was supposed to, its small enough not to be upsetting to the eye, it does what it says on the box, and lets be fair thats what you want it to do. for gatsos and truvellos it gives you 300 yards warning which is plenty.
its also got a radar detector built in, which has never gone of yet so cant report on it? but you can add a srd100? which gives you 100% protection over all current radar/gatsos out there which is nice
dont know anything about the s3 so cant comment

That's as I read the Times article anyhoo.......
"A Department for Transport document outlining the proposed ban states that it will “prohibit the carriage of devices that either actively inhibit the proper function of a speed camera or detect the presence of functioning speed cameras (as opposed to dummy housings)”.
Devices that use satellite-positioning systems to give drivers early warning of a speed camera will remain legal.
Ministers believe there is no problem with drivers simply being reminded of an approaching camera, which should be highly visible anyway under rules introduced two years ago.
The ban will instead focus on devices which tell drivers whether or not a yellow speed camera housing contains a live camera.
Many housings are dummies because police forces have only a limited number of cameras that they rotate in their enforcement sites. Drivers are able to speed past many camera housings because their detectors fail to bleep or flash, indicating that the housings are empty.
Ministers also want to prevent drivers from evading detection by police officers armed with speed guns. Most forces supplement their fixed cameras with “mobile enforcement” as an extra deterrent

Surely there is no such device that will alert the driver of an onconing camera but not let him know whether there is a camera in a housing, the device will do both wont it?
