I was just looking in the local Subaru dealer. They had a couple of brand new black cars in the showroom. The paint on both was in an awful mess, with swirl marks all over and polishing pad marks. Has anyone here requested their car 'in the plastic' when they've ordered brand new?

I am quite into 'detailing' and spend a lot of time on Autopia. Most people on there advise to make sure the dealer NEVER touches your car's paint.

Just wondered if anyone here has asked for no preparation on their new car, and what was the response from the salesman?
