STi RA Question - help please
I have just collected a 51,000 mile 1996 STi RA.
The car is my fourth Classic Impreza and I am reasonable familiar with the Impreza, but I have the following "problem":
Cars runs very well, apart from the "Check Engine" light which comes on after about 10 minutes of running the engine, and when revving/driving over 4,000 rpm the engine develops a missfire.
I am thinking of replacing the coil packs and sparks plugs - would this cure the missfire problem?
Any help or ideas always appreciated.

I think the fans cut in - but I have only driven the car a few miles to avoid any potential damage.
The engine is standard (just imported) the only modification is a HKS back box.
I have done a search on the forum and the main suspect I think will be the coilpacks.
Thanks for your help matey

If the fan's do cut in, why would it activated by the coil packs ?
But hey I'm no sparky, it's based on my own experience with a similar problem.
When starting my motor from cold occasionally I'de get the warning light & fan's running for a short time, had a temp sensor changed and it cleared the fault.
Hope you sort it
