Default Slight Problem?

I've just imported a 1994 WRX from Japan and had it for about a month. The only mods are a stainless exhaust and different air box (Abbey Road Company?) Excellent car but a small problem. I've been running it on Optimax and millers octane booster and it seems that everytime I put my foot down it'll get to between 5-6K revs and then loose all power. If you back off and then put your foot down again it's fine. The engine doesn't die or make any strange noises. Ant thoughts on what this could be and how to fix it? I live in the South and Subaru specialists seem to be few and far between? Any help would be great, Cheers.

Have you tried it without the octane booster? I thought Optimax would be enough. Maybe the booster is a little too much for the engine management to cope with.
