Unhappy AA Warning

Just a little warning about those in the AA ...

Basic story ...was about 5 miles from home when car started coughing, spluttering & losing power ...struggled back home to check it wasn’t something simple, but no joy & she wouldn’t restart ...call out the AA (as I have the danglies cover, home start, relay, relay plus) ...didn’t expect much & whilst they were prompt, courteous & seemed to know what they were doing, they couldn’t get her going

Now the problem starts ...technically this counts as a homestart & thus, they can only tow/flatbed to a 'local' dealer ...unfortunately I wouldn’t trust a dealer to change a bulb let alone anything else ...'that’s ok sir ...you can chose any garage in a 10 mile radius' ...great!!!

But if I had broke down 1/4 mile down the road I could take it anywhere in the UK (counts as relay)

So if you want the AA to take your pride & joy to your favourite specialist ...live at the top of a hill

Wink

Bet I am not the only one who has had a sick car on the drive and towed it 1/4 mile from home to get free transport to my favoured garage!

I've just joined the AA so that's valuable advice, thanks.

Hope I never have to use it though! ;-)

Best

Just seems a bit daft ...cus you end up calling them twice & costing them double!

Hope it is fuel pump & nothing more ...she's for sale & after weeks of no interest i get two calls wanting to view her at the weekend!
