Default Sti Wagon Vs Evo 8 - earlier today

Hi guys, im wanting to share a bit of an experience i had earlier.

Taking an exit onto a dual carriage way earlier today in my Sti Version 5 Wagon (version 6 engine) and saw a massive beast of an evo 8 right up my rear. As he tried swift aside and pull past me, i thought o what the heck, lets see what the potential of my car really is, is it really over 300 Bhp in power. So i put my foot down and trickled ahead of the guy to which we ended up racing. Im not gona exagerate (pardon the spelling) and say that i left him for dust cos i didnt, he kept up with me all along with a couple of meters distance apart. The funny thing is how i just kept in front off him n he couldnt get passed me. In the process we went past 2 other roundabouts continuing to the exit straight and he still couldnt get in front apart from two instances where he nearly nipped past but as soon as i dropped to third and put my foot down, i kept leaving him behind.

Until the situation got a bit dangerous as too many cars started to appear and i had to slow down, even in which i shot past two other cars n he couldnt get past until i further pulled behind a row of cars n he shot past LOL. Felt like following him, pullingh im up and telling him that its a bit late now lol.

But damn i feel really good about my car now. only thing remains, now one will ever believe me apart from a friend who was in the car with me at the time.

N one thing i always say to guys that i leave behind, i friggin got a tow bar on my car adding so much extra weight, at least take that as an advantage.

well to be honest, i do. It is rather well known where i live. Its a black MR or FQ340. One of the two.

The reason y im surprised as well as disgusted at the same time is that i had so much respect for evos n i cant find no answer to the reason y he was so behind.

A subaru specialist who works on other performance cars was curious about my car when i showed him and asked me to get a rolling road done. He was convinced that there is something a little not normal with regards to my engine, but as far as im concerned that cars only had extensive geometric settings by TSL and other big names

What were the weather conditions - Was it wet? , was the road fairly straight - or were there twisties involved?

Its a black MR or FQ340. One of the two.
MR's aren't available in Black..either it was a 260 or one of the original 8's ie-GSR or FQ3xx.

As for the race, I'm not even going to start on that..

Id say the weather condition was damp with roads holding moisture.

Regarding what the car was, just spoken to a friend a while ago who knows the guy with the car. N has told me its a MR330. God knows what thats suppose to mean, thought the evo 8s were all 340 Bhp apart from the new FQ400 whatever its called.

To be honest im more surprised than anyone else but whats happened has happened and an evo lost its pride today.

Regardless of what evo drivers say, an evo couldnt outpace a sti wagon that had a tow bar on the back, on what youd call a predominately straight road
