Default Missing locking wheelnut!

Had my car in at a respectable garage the other day for the fitting of rear discs and pads.I went to take my wheels off today to fit some front discs and my locking wheel nut was missing from its usual location.Obviously the garage had used it to take the back wheels off,so i rang the mechanic and he told me it had definatly been put back near the gearstick.I asked him where he found it in the first place and he said it was in the toolbag in the boot. Now,ive never had the nut in the toolbag, its always been in the front of the car.

So what do i do now!!I cant drive my car as my front discs have warped that much that the car wont drive.

Looks like im gonna have to try and rip them off somehow....any suggestions?

And im gonna have to buy some new wheel nuts....how much am i looking at?

And im very very very pissed off!!!!

I have used 5 sets of locking wheel nuts and had to drill out 4 of those sets.

Limp the car to a garage if you can and ask them to drill them out.

Your locking wheel nut ( key ) was missing.

If your locking wheel ( nut ) was missing you wouldnt need the ( key ).

Knock a suitably sized socket over the ( nut ) and take off as normal.

No,its the special key required to take the locking nut off.

Ive just had a call from the garage and it has turned up,apparently it was misplaced with a bunch of tools.I had a bit of a panick on,thinking i was gonna have to do damage taking them off.
Panick over but cheers for the advice, will know what to do in future.

What I did when I got my 99 was got another set of plain wheelnuts and an extra locking nut key. I keep one locknut key in the car, one in the garage. If car has to go to a dealer and wheels are to come off I put plain wheelnut on and locking back on when I get it back.
