I've used a couple of companies in the past and they've both been fine. Their work has blended in perfectly.

Still it's a pain in the **** to have to use them on a new car. Bloody stones!

Default stone chip repairs

im a paint sprayer, be aware with the smart repairs that they are intended not to be visible from 4-6ft away, get up close and you might tell where the repair is, thats why there called 'smart repairs' and some colours are harder to fade in than others, so check the work really well and check for ringing where the chip was. Good luck, i've used my mates company before and was happy, it saves spraying a whole bonnet etc, but there are still some cowboys out there.

Default Can't believe it

Spoke to Chips Away this morning and they said that I would be better going to Halfords and getting a touch up pen.

They have 2 alternatives;

1: To fill the hole with paint which they tell me will still be visible.
2: To sand and fill the chip and respray the local area

I asked if this would be as good as the factory finish and was told no it would still be visible.

Seems they dont need new business to me

Ask the dealer which mobile service he uses and if you can drop the car up to the garage next time the bloke's in.
