Default Problem wiith my first scooby

Picked up my first ever scooby on friday. Its an 01 wrx with 30k on the clock , when i test drove it on wednesday i noticed that the engine management light was on, I pointed this out to the dealer who said he was aware of it and stated that it was the lamber sensor that was faulty (god knows why they hadnt already fixed it) I expressed my concern over the matter and he assured me it was nothing to worry about and would be rectified when I picked up the vehicle. Picked it up on friday and sure enough the light was now out, he said the lamber sensor had been replaced and it should now be ok. Took the car out on friday night , when for a meal with a few mates so the car was stood in the cold for about 3 hours, came back to the car and it took 3 attempts to get it started and once started it sounded very heavy from the exhaust and felt very lumpy, thought nothingof it as it was so cold and drove home without incident. Went out today and after about 50 miles the engine management light came back on. Phoned the garage and they said bring it in and they would have a look. In my opinion I dont think they have changed the lamber sensor but have blown it out and cleaned it hoping it will last the 3 month warranty they gave me. Are their any other major faults that I should be aware of that could bring the engine management light on.

Uk or import? Subaru dealer or other.? Get heavy in a polite way. My 99 UK Turbo 30K starts on the button everytime. You got to get it sorted before warranty expires. ? MAF sensor others more familiar with Bugeyes may advise.

if you feel that there are things being glossed over then I would heartily recommend getting your car checked over by an independant specialist. See who is recommended in whatever area you are from.

Get the car checked then if they find anything else whip it back to the garage and get them to fix and put right what they find.

Its a uk bugeye model and I bought it from well lane turbo center, they gave it a full service and put it through the mot before I picked it up. I have it booked in with my regular tuning guy for a health check on tuesday (do this with all my cars) so hopefully he can find out any underlying problems, hopefully well lane will sort the problem on monday or he wont be able to do a proper power run etc. They ran it up at well lane before I bought it and it gave 267 bhp , its been chipped but seems standard in every other respect. Will it be safe to drive (steadily) untill I get it sorted or could I cause some damage.

Anyone got any opinions on if its still safe to drive it. Tried the battery disconnect ecu reset this morning but no luck the light is still on. How do I check for the error code , their seems to be lots of info about pre bugeye models but I cant find any info how to check mine so I can see if its something serious.

Has it got the standard exhaust or a de-cat? A de-cat would make the light come on?

When you say its been chipped do you mean re-mapped?
