Default Picked up my new STI 05 today :-)

After some months wait it was time to pick up my new STI today :-)

In Sweden it is called Petter Solberg Edition II and features boostmeter and Petter Solberg logo on the trunk.

After a half day of driving I can just say Good I love this car :-) The gas response is real good. The traction is outstanding. It´s real hard to hold myself not to puch the throttle to much :-)

I will post up some pictures later because just after 5 minutes the car was not clean. The car is black pearl and looks beautiful in the sun and real descrete at night.

Unfortinaly I have to wait for next year to EcuTek the car bacause no one in Sweden has the equipment to do it for the 05 ECU :-(

Regards
J

Yes but with lots of Prodrive goodies. It was renamed the WR1.

Sounds like a nice motor - and in the best colour too

If it makes you feel any better, my '05 STI was filthy after 1 day, had a scuff in the paintwork after 2 days and a chipped windscreen after 4 I've not had much luck so far...

ps. rest assured that EcuTek CAN remap the '05 ECU - my car (admittedly Japanese spec) has an EcuTek remap.

But not in Sweden :-/ I don´t want to send my ECU to UK for a remap. We have different gasoline here så the map would not be optimal for Sweden. So I have to wait for next year when the companies here invest in the equipment for the 05 ECU:s.

The Petter Solberg special edition was sold in the UK as a european import, however the WR1 took this as a base and upgraded it further. The Petter Solberg had the standard 265ps/no driving lights and none of the other goodies the WR1 has.

I'm surprised there's a problem mapping the '05 ECU - I don't think any new hardware is needed, just maybe a software update. The map is created by the tuner, not by Ecutek, so they should be free to create an optimal map for your car and fuel.

The UK 'Petter Solberg edition' (Ie WR1) was an 04 car though?

This isn't the (non WR1) Petter Solberg edition the Euro importers have been bringing in to the UK, its an 05 car.

I can ask my friend what type of camera it is. I only know that it is a Canon digitla house. We used 2 different lenses for the shots. I think they were Sigma lenses. The original pictures was 3000 X 3000 and stored in a Canon Raw format. So we had to size them down for normal modem users :-D

The boost gauge is good to have but measures the boost in a different scale so a new gauge with bar readings will be fitted later. This one measures MPA

The boost gauge is standard on the Solberg Edition I and II :-D
