Extend warranty on 03 sti+ppp ??
My 03 sti+ppp is coming up to 60k - i do about 35k a year.
options are:
1. extend full warranty for 1year @ £500 - unlimited mileage
2. as above for 2year @ £1000
3. nothing - save money for failures
4. spend the money on mods and sod the warranty
if i only extend for 1 year and then want to another year, they will only do a "limited" warranty for year 2 covering major parts e.g. engine, gearbox etc @ £500.
Thoughts ??

Hi M8, I've been in the same situation....my 03sti was just due its 50,000 so I've been thinking along the same lines.
I was going to take the 1 year unlimited and then look to change the car without a warranty, although I must admit I hadn't realised there was a two year option as well, which would probably help the resale value.
BUT...mine needed new front discs and pads, front tyres and as well as the timing belt change, as well as the warranty shortly, I decided to cut my losses and PX'd it against an 05 WRX SL PPP. With the mileage I was doing I'm hoping to save a few pounds, although I appreciate it might not be something you would want to do
As regards saving the money from the warranty, £500 won't go far if something serious goes bang, so I would say the peace of mind that the warranty will offer is money well spent. I don't think its possible to extend the warranty for another year if you take the 1 year option, so that may narrow it down a bit, but it depends when you plan to get rid of the car.
Just some thoughts, hope they help.
