This is off-topic but I know how much people like taking pictures of their cars to post on the BBS....

If you are after a cheap digital camera to play with - Scan are selling one for £35 + VAT - see

I saw this posted on 22b.com yesterday afternoon , I went to the website and thought ok, i'll order one- but i noticed you couldn't order online , Also noticed they were closed
Is the camera good? or is it just good for £35 Serious question, i'll keep a look out for it coming up again.

Yeah me too. However, I did notice that the normal price is only £39 + VAT anyway, so I think I might give them a ring on Monday Depends on how much postage is though I can't seem to find this camera on sale anywhere else - anyone know if someone sells it with free delivery?

Cheers
Richard

Hos / Richard,

The camera is OK and works even to fairly low light levels but forget it at night.
It has a built-in timer for taking photos of yourself and a "rapid mode" which takes pictures in quick succession.

For the price it is good but obviously it has no features such as swapable memory cards or zoom lens.

It does come with both a USB cable and a serial one (if you run NT or don't have USB). The software will allow you to convert images into more common formats such as GIF or JPEG for web use.

They have now put it in their Hardware/Cameras section (it wasn't last week) so even £39 is not bad...

As per my original message - if you can fax an order over to them before tomorrow morning they will give you the lower price but £4 is not really a huge discount anyway...

They charged me £10 carriage for next day delivery (I ordered a few items) but I would think they would have other options.

Thanks

Gavin

Off the top of my head, it looks like a Jenoptiks.

I remember PC World doing Jenoptiks for under £100 a while ago.

As usuall, I could be wrong though .

Chris.
