The STi is designated and badged ‘Type-UK’ to distinguish it from unofficial imports which do not have the additional features standard on the British versions.

I still reckon the only reason the 'Type UK' badge is fitted is so that dealers can tell whether the 'rip-off-Britain' tax has been paid, or whether the car is an identical parallel import from Europe. Why do you think there's no Type France, Type Germany, Type Holland...
