Picked up my scooby today (joy), but have stumbled across a problem which is probably due to me being dense more than anything.

When I stop the car, ignition off but don't get out, then immobilsor kicks in, and if I then turn key, no engine. However, if i hit the alarm button on the keyfob, alarm goes off!! not disarming the immobilsor as I was expecting. I must be missing something blooody obvious. It has std subaru alarm / immob on it.

Do I need to turn the key so far, then press keyfob button, then turn key further???

I have an autowatch alarm on my car. After 10seconds of the engine being switched off, my immobiliser kicks in. I have to press the fob button for it to come back to life. Quite a good security system I think. However, my alarm does not go off.
What system do you have?

you need to turn the key 2 clicks, all the dash lights will then be lit, you then press the alarm fob button and start the car
