Sumthing out of the ordinary happend tonight
I heard a scooby rumble in the street, looked out of the window and saw a red classic pull up round the corner, bloke gets out and visits a house
sumtime later i hear it start up, i watched as it drove out the street, past my car, it did this real slow, i was a touch miffed at this, but it happens with all kinds of cars so i thought nothing of it
i was about to jump in the shower and was playing vice city when the doorbell rang, my dad shouted up for me as it was for me
look out the window and see a red classic at the bottom of the drive
walk downstairs and this random bloke is there saying
"allright mate whats the best exhaust to buy for my scooby"
im like
"WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF"
turns out i had spoken to him when i first got my car (about 2 years ago ish when it was all white)
i have no idea weather or not he even knew it was my house
i gave him sum advice and he told me all his upcoming mods etc etc, he chatted on the door for about 10 mins and then went his merry way
i dont know his name, dont know where hes from (asuming local and i do rember he said he used to have a cossiewhich got nicked, hence his scoob purchase) he seams genuine so im not concerned about a dodgy theft or anything
but its a bit RaNDoM innit
after he left my dad asked "do you know him?" to which i had to reply "i have no fooken idea" lmao

Back in the old days of scooby ownership before all the max power boys got hold of them, it was quite common to go up to another scooby owner even though they were complete strangers. The cameradery was there and nobody thought it was strange or WTF!
Grow up young man and take it as a compliment that someone came to you for advice - lord knows why though

are you ****en insane
no i didnt think you were...........
i dont think its strange if sumbody aproaches me in a petrol station, a supermarket, a bank, infact any public place
what i do think is strange is knock in randoms doors and asking for advice, wouldnt consider myself young either although i do keep telling my "younger" GF that im still in my prime
if people used to knock on random peoples doors back in the good old days, then please feel free to put me right, otherwise do me a favour and hurry up and die you old bint

I don't suppose it was completely random that he knocked on your door --probably saw you enter and thought as he'd seen you before that it would be OK.
I follow his reasoning and think that's OK too.
But then again, I want to eat Dolphins, shoot small animals for sport and laugh at the extinction of whales, so perhaps I'm the exception.

i had been in the house for hours and hours!!!
i honestly belive it was a random door knock
i asked him if my car was painted when i had previously seen him, it was when i first got it and it looked compleatly diffrent (standerd white WRX)
i dont belive that he knew it was me, which is why i was so miffed

It is a bit strange to get someone knocking on your door for advice,I probably did silly thingds like that when I was 17,but wouldnt dream of doing such a pathetic thing now.

Poor sod is probably a few doors away getting soaked, chatting to the neighbours about optimax.

Some kid came up to me in tesco's today, while I was wating for the wife, and asked 'can I take a picture of your Subaru' now that is WTF!!!
I said ok (my reasoning being he could have just taken it without me knowing and if i'd told him to do one he may have seem it another time and chived it) but i'm thinking now and getting a bit paranoid!
I'm hoping he was just a BIG fan of scooby's in a train spotting kind of way!
I think the SG will be at hand for a while and not much sleep!

SteveBt from this very thread was working on a site in morpeth about 20/30 miles from my house talking about cars and the young scroate on site was rabbiting on about he was gonna get a scoob, "just like this" on which he pulled out his mobile fone and had a pic of my car on it
my brother was in a pub last week and got talking to a lad who had a pic of my car parked on the drive outside my house on his fone
my GF moved down reading and one the lads she works with had pics on his computer or sumthing
photos are nothing really wierd IMO
