What to Buy next My02sti to ???????
Firstly I love my car
Secondly as we all do i get pangs of what can/should I change it for?
Am I looking for the impossible, ive looked at various car and test driven a few and not one has left me thinking WOW ive got to have this
Ive driven the following and they are a NO so if people have any further suggestions please add
M3 - didn't like the drive, the (smeg) gear paddle change was awful didn't feel as fast as my sti
Tvr Tuscan s - what can I say blindingly fast, totally impractical and the door door handle fell off whilst on the test drive hmmmmm
Jag Xkr - fast but didn't handle that well and seemed old manish??
Evo - blahhhh I don't mind going to something equal but the interior looks like it was made by Blue Peter and it wasn't THAT quick.
so i'm left thinking of the following
Porsche 911
Aston Martin - yeah right like ive got that sort of money
i'm starting to wonder whether im screwed or not as I can believe there's not another car out there that will give me the buzz the Scoob does.
I could got for a type 25 BUT would it feel liked I changed cars or just moved up a level?
Spec of car as follows:- Needs to be able to seat 4 people money no object within reason, handle well and go at least as well as my sti.
Suggestions welcome.

I went to an EVO 8 fQ340 and although I haven't been against a scoob, I reckon it's as fast as a WR1, and unbiased as we still have a scoob, the exterior of the evo is better, but the interior could do with some work, although on long journeys you don't get back ache if u are tall !

M5 = new one with the v10 engine a contender.
Evo = no way on this earth (at present)
vauxhall monaro = may give this one a tyre kick (just cant seem to loose the vauxhall badging tho)

Yeh major downside is the 2 seater status, but at least I'll never get laiden down with people and lose about a million horsepower.
Can't believe you thinking of getting rid of your beast - especially after all the stick!!

Not SERIOUSLY looking at getting rid of it (yet) just toying with the idea of IF i did what the HELL would I get??
you know how it is boys and there toys, Men and their Machines.
I may even end up keeping it and getting something from the DARKSIDE
DARKSIDE = Comfort and speed

Saw a luurvey Evo MR FQ400 the other day ... with the fins on the roof. Mentalist motor - only thing that could tempt me away from the noble I think.

I'm in a simlair position and had really set my mind up on a 911 c4 facelift model (2001-2004) but,
took one out last week and although it was very nice to drive and slightly quicker than my my03sti it didn't feel £45k special to be honest. Now don't know what to do but i'm going to try an evo mr, hopefully an m5 and then a new jdm sti and see if that can convince me to change. Any opinions or tips greatly appreciated!

I've not found anything yet that will take an unpredictable bumpy B-road like an AWD rally rep at least for a driver of average ability. Others seem to fall through their suspension over yumps, or don't have the ground clearance to land tidily. If anyone finds something let me know. 993 and RS4 are not the answer for me I know that. The RS4 felt very unstable over high speed crests, sending me all the signals to back off. 993 similarly, it landed on its bottom going over crests slower than the Scooby wouldn't think twice about. I know this isn't everyone's idea of a drive, but some of the best roads are undulating, poorly surfaced, off camber and twisty. What can combine the body control with luxury? Still looking....

The list I have so far is as follows:-
New v10 M5 ??
911 Turbo (4wd) etc etc
Mercedes e 55amg
Audi rs6 (either saloon or avant)
Fly in the ointment would be a T25?
The ultimate would be a Vanquish but hey we've all got to dream.
When it's happens it going to be dammm tuff, but good fun

RS6 is relatively sloppy on the body control as well IMHO, but this is only as a passenger. I hear first hand that the E55 AMG old and new shapes are too.
But these are huge heavyweights, so not surprising. Depends if build quality, refinement, ride quality matter more to you than a B-road blast. Depends on mood for me.
