I had the pleasure of driving my 04 STI and a 04 MR300 back to back down some demanding roads (thanks Carl!) at the weekend,
the only way to descibe the difference is that of an Italian Vee Twin bike v a Jap 4, the 4 is traditionaly smoother in power delivery and more frantic at higher revs and ultimately a bit faster, however the Vee Twin has far more character and more satisfing to drive - the 4's tend to be a bit easer to ride whilst the twins a bit more lumpy around town. The jap 4's are suitable for every day commuting the Twins a bit more of a weekend special event.

Anyway sort of sums up how I felt about the two cars - both go well and have different ways of doing it - all about personal taste. which is why I always have had Ducs and Aprilia's (and now a STI).

MR300 has smoother suspension and better handling - its so easy to drive fast or slow - its almost too easy??

i think if ducati built cars you would never be done fixin them, bike is fickle enough without it havin components like cars...........jokin really ha ha
