Default Sti TypeR instument panel.....can it be done?

Guys, i would be real greatfull if any of you can shead some light on the follow. Can i do a streight swap with an STi TypeR instrument panel with mine. Mine being an STi version2 (96N)
Some more history and questions i have asked here
I do hope it can be a straight swap. Stop my nightmere somebody. Pleeeease.

Well i've had it on good authority to day from two sources that the TypeR instruments won't slot into my STi2 with out major upheaval and re-wireing.
Just not worth all that aggravation.
