Leaded/Super conversion
When I bought my 98S Impreza Turbo, I was told it had been "set for unleaded" - whereas there's a note on the inside of the petrol cap that says super only.
Does anybody know what's involved? I try to use Super, and would like the extra performance that it offers. How can I (quickly) tell the ECM that it's using Super (and so can use more ignition advance)?

The Turbo 2000 AWD uk cars were able to run unleaded (95 ron) without problems, they do run better on super unleaded though, smoother and slightly more performance/mpg.
As for seeing how quickly the ecu will adjust, normally within 100 miles, most say after a tank or two of fuel.
You could do an ecu reset, this way the car will learn quicker, well within the 100 miles to adjust to the higher ron fuel.
