good stuff, although the octane booster discussions usually get fairly lively on here, and everyone has their favourite.

Millers is favourite as its easy to use and you don't have to measure it out

Not used Millers. After reading lots if opinions in other threads I got some NF from Apex in Bradford. Not the cheapest stuff, but I ran a 1/4 in 13.6 with some (ok, a lot!) in the tank. I usually just use optimax and save the booster for special occasions.

I use millers, and get it from here:

http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.p...d=m1b0s26p1390

£30 for 10.

I have a '95 WRX fully-decatted, and using Optimax plus Millers get only green activity on the knocklink.

The knocklink is quieter when using Millers in my 03 STi PPP I only use it when I know I shall be using some of the performance, around town it's pointless. I would however, like a definitive answer to whether the brown deposit it leaves is accumulative or mearly a discolouration that does not build-up on combustion chamber and plug surfaces.

I also have my reservations regarding the deposits it leaves. Can't help feeling it can't be good for the plugs and engine generally long term??

If it's an orangey deposit then it'll probably be Manganese. Hope you don't have a catalyst on your car, because it'll be knackered if you do. J

It is the manganese but Millers claim it to be cat friendly in normal doses.

You are probably right. I have just fitted a knocklink and it only shows 1st green when approaching the red-line. I'd imagine if I stopped using Millers and just used Optimax it still wouldn't hit the yellows.
