Anyone used/got an AccuMate Pro Battery Charger?
The bloody battery on the scoob is going flat quite quickly, about a week. the only things running are an alarm (Clifford 500) and the memory in the stereo. The battery and alt are both new so I will obviously look to see whats draining all the power but I was hoping to use thw above charger to maintain everything.
Has anyone had any experience or got on for sale?
They are around £65 new inc vat and del.

We use the Optimate charger from them for the motorbike batteries and we've never had a problem with it. The same charger works for car batteries, and I would not have a problem in recommending it to anybody.
My STI7 is connected to a standard accumate now. I didn't buy the pro version.
They are very good, I would recommend to anyone.
I believe it is a very common charger on cars which are not driven very much, TVR etc..I have heard that they are sometimes fitted in to the boot
They come with a fused connection to attach to your battery, so it is dead easy to plug in.
I have had it for about 8 months, and connect it if I am planning to leave the car for more than a day or so. It takes a while (depending on condition) to saturate the battery, but then changes to a maintenance charge and stays there forever.
I bought it from Shadowfax Engineering as well. I believe that is the site you linked to?

What about all this stuff about the standard version only being suitable for 27ah batteries? Whats the crack, will it still work ok?
I take it that the standard one is the motorcyle 12v version?
Cheers for the info!!

I have heard of "Optimate" chargers being used on car batteries, but they are designed for Bikes really.
The standard "Accumate" is big enough for the scoob, but I would suggest only just. It switches to maintenance charge at 200mA, which can take a number of hours to achieve on a large battery.
The Accumate pro switches over at a higher value (6 or 700mA IIRC) which may be better.
On the other hand, it is better to charge a battery at 1.2 amps (accumate)than at 4 amps (? accumate pro)
I would buy either the accumate or accumate pro for car use, not the Optimate
