You call losing a grand in a short space of time a result

Get a JDM STI '05, then you can try that for a while and upgrade in stages (STI => Type 20 => Type 25) if you feel the need

There's a 4 month old Type 25 on the Litchfield site at the moment.

http://www.litimports.co.uk/stocklist.asp

I think only losing a grand on a new car is good going.

i think that is very little loss as some dealers would have cost you lots more especially as you did not buy another car,why did you sell the wr1?

i've just been quoted 29k for a MY05 STI with PPP and the PFF7 alloys. A paltry discount of 700 ish quid. That's my only response so far tho'

Interesting to note that while the press release about the MY05 improvements has disappeared, there is a STI MY05 accessories page! doh! are they ******* thick or what?

I never said it didn't.

I am considering both at the moment or even a MY04 STI if I can keep a pile of cash back.

**** me, give me a break. I posted the price up to see if anyone else had done better. I arent pretending to be a professional driver....

I want a quickish road car - I'm sure that a MY04 with PPP is still classed as a fairly rapid road car?

I dont give a **** about all this WR1 vs everything else cack. If it comes down to the a choice between the wr1 at 30k and a my05 at 29 then I would personally buy the wr1, but if i can get a couple more grand off the 05 then I might go with that due to double the service interval, better interior, marginally less consipuous. At the end of the day, the improved residual of the WR1 is an unknown factor.

I HAVE NO BEEF WITH WR1'S. I MIGHT EVEN BUY ONE

you can tell aaron's joined the wr1 gang of wr1 is best and that is that-shame the wr1 has last years suspension compared to 05 and i hear the 05 ppp is very close to the wr1 map so you are left with the colour?!

In terms of long term residuals i would imagine the WR1 will fair much better than any other car since the 22b.

I'd put it down to prospective buyers seeing it's a UK specific car, limited edition and still a bloody good spec.

I really like it but i think peeps see better specs for cheaper imports atm, another 5 years down the line the WR1 will be quite desirable

IMHO of course, personally i like them all Type 20, 25's, WR1's and most of all 22b's
Just dont have the funds

If you can go for a Type 25 and don't mind it not being a standard IM car, FFS buy one!

They're a lot more special than a MY05 will be.

If you have any questions on the WR1 come and visit us on here www.wr1oc.co.uk

Nope, i've got a <whispers, in case any one of the sad gits who haven't driven one are listening> a stonking WR1. More than happy with it. I would have looked at the Type 25 if i didn't prefer to have a UK car with full main dealer backup as i use the car every day. And the insurance would have been through the roof on the '25, as i still have youth on my side. But not by much!

If i were in your situation i'd regret buying the MY05 STi if i was also serious looking at the Type 25. I know i did with my last car, a MY02 WRX, always wished i'd paid that bit more and gone for the STi.

I think Mog on here has a Type 25.

Cheers
