Default WRX, servicing and parts?

yo all

I'm looking at getting my very first classic shape WRX with bucket loads of anticiptation and simple can't wait!

As a bit of a newbie to scoobies, does parts, servicing etc cost more on an imported wrx than compared to uk spec ones?

I always thought that parts for imports were more expensive but local dealer said standard uk parts will fit it, is this the case?

Many parts are standard, but dealers used to bluff people a lot to try and deter them from buying imports. People have been known to wait months for replacement glass after break-ins as dealers order from Japan and then leave you waiting while it comes on the slowest boat. In truth, very few bits aren't readily available if you know where to look, and here is a good place to start. On older cars it's also worth search for specialist breakers for many bits. Some dealers may also refuse to service imports, but TBH you're better going to a decent specialist such as Scoobyclinic anyway. Same job done, with more care and attention, friendly and attentive staff and all for about half the price
