de-cat exshaust turning my white car yellow ! HELP
#1
I've noticed since having all the cats removed from my exhaust that the corner piece nearest to the exhaust is getting turned steadily yellow !
It looks like its got a 20 a day habit !
In fact i washed it for the first time in a week last night and found the whole back end of the car had a light nicotine coating !
Its the well documentated sooty colour inside the back box, and a bronzed finish outside (HKS full system) but this yellow stuff is a nightmare to wash off.
Shampoo and hot water is not enough to get it off, I have to resort to a decent car polish or in more recent times T-cut to remove it, then find after two days its back again.
Will any of the advertised wax's stop this or at least make it easier to remove ?

I have a STI 5 in silver which has a champagne tint to it rather than the polar look of the UK and previous STI's.
The area around the tail pipe is going a goldy colour too since I went fully de cat'd....may be its the flames lapping up the boot on the track days???

Its funny you mention that Ian, mines an sti 5 too and friends have reported the odd flaming incident over the last few weeks.
first and third gears seems faves for flame outs, perhaps the yellowing is the plastic melting hehe wondered what that smell was.

Mine does that, polish it using ONLY AUTOSOL (gold/balck tube)
Failing that...take up smoking so your smile looks like the rear of your car!
