Thumbs up VIN Plate for Imported Type R.

I had a look at a Type R today.. A looked fine and was about to make an offer. I checked for a VIN Plate and could not find it... What I did find was the two rivets (on top of the strut) that would hold it in place ??? The Chassis number was on the Bulk head, so I made a note for the HPI Check.

Question? Can you get VIN Plates made up for an Import? Incase you don't know what I am talking about I have put the following link in..

http://www.grahamgoode.com/subaru/grey.htm

Any ideas?

vin plate should be under the bonnet on the passenger side top strut....

If it's not there or has been tampered with walk away fast!

Cheers, I did do as advised and ran a mile... Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to get a vin plate made again... If it can even be done?

Had a look at a Daisy yellow EVO 5 at BOC in bolton a couple of years ago. The vin plate was missing and a piece of ally with the number on the V5 was rivited over the top of the number stamped into the body. Ran a mile, obviously stolen.

Talked to DVLC and they were not helpfull, said it can be done. The HPI check showed nothing as it did not track imports. Talked to a mitsi dealer, no help.

Should have told the police, but they knew my car reg and several big blokes turned up once I pointed out the problem with the plate.
